 Product Description

The Roll-to-Roll Transfer Coating System presents an automatic battery electrode coating solution designed with a compact footprint measuring less than 6'x3'. Leveraging the transfer coating technique, this system ensures enhanced coating uniformity, making it an ideal choice for research endeavors and prototype construction, particularly for pilot-scale studies in the development of new-generation rechargeable batteries. Engineered for operational efficiency, the system operates on a working voltage of 208 - 240 V AC with a 50/60Hz frequency, configured for a single-phase power supply. It requires a maximum power consumption of 4 KW, necessitating a 30A air breaker for optimal performance.

 

With a maximum coating width of 250mm and an adjustable thickness range from 0 to 5mm, the system achieves a coating thickness between 30-200um post-drying, exhibiting precision at ±3µm (±5µm at the edges). The coating speed is adjustable within the range of 0 to 750 mm per minute. For drying, the system can attain a maximum temperature of 120°C, extendable to 150°C using a 240V transformer, with temperature control accuracy maintained at ±1°C. The heating zone spans 710mm (28") to ensure precise and uniform heating. The reeling/unreeling shaft, featuring an inner diameter of 75mm, accommodates rolls with a maximum outer diameter of 250mm. The maximum coating length varies based on the coating and substrate thickness, generally coating 600 meters of electrode length in a single run for a 10um thick foil with a 100um coating.

 

The system offers two coating modes, with the transfer coating technique (Reverse Comma) selected for superior uniformity. Users can choose between continuous and intermittent coating, allowing customization of coating length and break segments. The slurry stirring mechanism incorporates an SS316 moving rod for efficient mixing, ensuring a homogenous slurry. Proper operation of the system requires compressed air within the range of 0.5-0.8 MPa, with a note that an air compressor is not included. Weighing 1000 kg (2200 lbs), the Roll-to-Roll Transfer Coating System prioritizes durability and precision. Application notes recommend using Acetone for cleaning and drying the doctor blade, slurry feeder, and roller to prevent rusting. This system stands as a reliable and high-precision coating solution for battery electrode applications.
